My name is Linda Sjöström. I´m a woman 66 years old and run my own consulting business, Intellex Management


What is your background?

I’m educated as Master of Science in chemical engineering and have been working in the pharmaceutical industry for 18 years in various positions within sales, sales management, product management, marketing and general management.
Thereafter, 15 years in the venture capital industry investing, developing and divesting medico-, life science, biotech- and pharma companies. The main part of the work exercised through chairmanships and memberships of the board of investee companies.
The last 8 years I’ve run my own consulting business as board member or chairman of boards, sparring partner for business owners, consulting regarding company growth, strategy development, implementation of action plans, optimization of profit etc.
In addition, 3 years ago I took part as chairman of the board to start and develop a local business network.
Today, we have 100 member companies in the network and have established a “growth house” for new and small companies where office facilities are rented out at affordable prices.

Why do I help companies in distress on a volunteer basis?

I work with pleasure as voluntary consultant in Early Warning Denmark because I have the energy and the passion to share all the experiences and competencies which I have acquired through an extensive career. It gives me inspiration to see that my work with the distressed companies really makes a difference and a thankful feeling when you help a company avoiding a bankruptcy and save the people involved for a lot of sufferings.

The key factors for a successful outcome of a collaboration with a distressed company are:
• Mutual respect, openness and honesty
• A sustainable business model
• Agreement regarding action plan and implementation hereof
• Sense of urgency
